Emily Gold- Emily is one of the main characters in this book even though she dies at the begining. Emily is 17 and is found dead with a gunshot in her head. Before she died she was dating her next door neighbor who has been her bestfriend forever named Chris Harte. Emily and Chris were in love but she developed suicidal feelings. Although Emily dies what ive gotten from the book so far about her is she was very shy. This shyness seems to come because she was sexually abused and pregnant with a man's baby that she didnt even know. Thats where the thoughts of suicide seem to come from in my opinion.
Chris Harte- Chris is a really caring man and hes madly in love with Emily Gold his next door neighbor. He's a really good swimmer and for alot of the book he is a suspect in her death. He seems like a good kid and he seems suspicious to me because he was at the crime scene and personally the suicide pact didnt make sense so we'll see at the end if he confesses something.
Gus Harte- This is Chris mom and she is convinced he is innocent. She seems like a strong and passionate women and shes very convinced that chris didnt do anything wrong and he is being wrongly accused.
Melanie Gold- She seems very oblivious to the obvious things going on around her. She seems very judgemental.
James Harte- So far he seems like a cold man.
It was Chris' baby, but she was sexually abused by a man she had never met.
